Multi slab, oxidized maple dining table.
I select multiple slabs from the same tree and carefully arrange them so that the grain flows and has a dynamic balance. The slab set used for the table shown here has a curly figure, which is the ripple like grain. It also has some ambrosia patterning, which is the ghost like patterning that is caused by a beetle that bored into the tree while it was alive.
The grey color comes from my oxidization process which creates the color without stain or dye.
The "U" shaped base has a blackened, cold rolled steel lower portion with a wooden upper section.
size shown 108x46x29h, but made in completely custom sizes and shapes.
